If you’ve worked with me, seen my marketing, or even just driven by one of my park benches, you might be wondering: “What’s the deal with the pies?” Well, sit back, grab a slice of pie (or some popcorn), and let me tell you the story of how a simple idea turned into my signature real estate brand.
It All Started on July 4th, 2017
My journey into real estate began on Independence Day in 2017. It was my first year as a real estate agent, and Titusville was buzzing with excitement for a downtown street party. The theme of the event was “Red, White, and Pie,” and I decided to show up with pies to hand out, figuring, “Hey, if the theme is pie, people should get pie!”
Little did I know, this seemingly small gesture would spark something much bigger. As I handed out pies, people kept asking, “Why pie?” At first, I gave playful, off-the-cuff answers. But then, almost as if by divine inspiration, I replied:
“Because I’m as hometown as apple pie!”
And just like that, a brand was born.
Why “As Hometown as Apple Pie”?
The phrase stuck with me because it captured exactly who I am and what I aim to bring to my clients. Real estate isn’t just about buying and selling houses; it’s about creating a sense of home, comfort, and community. To me, apple pie embodies that warmth and familiarity — the same feelings I want my clients to have when working with me.
From that day on, I’ve used the slogan “As Hometown as Apple Pie” across everything I do. It’s on my park benches, my social media, my YouTube channel, and even in the way I connect with my clients. It’s a reminder of my commitment to providing a welcoming, neighborly experience.
Pies for Every Closing
One of my favorite traditions tied to this brand is my Pie Giveaway. Every time one of my clients closes on a house, they receive a free pie to celebrate. It’s not just any pie, though — I source them from Village Inn, a fantastic restaurant known for its incredible pies. If you’ve never tried one, I highly recommend stopping by if you have a location nearby.
The pie is my way of saying “thank you” for trusting me with such an important milestone in your life. It’s a sweet reminder of the joy and celebration that comes with finding your perfect home or selling one to start your next chapter.
Why It Matters
To me, the pies are more than just a gimmick. They represent my values:
* Community: I’m proud to be part of the Titusville community and to offer the kind of service that makes people feel like they’re working with a trusted neighbor.
* Hospitality: Like Aunt Bee from The Andy Griffith Show, my goal is to make every client feel welcome, cared for, and at ease.
* Celebration: Every real estate transaction is a reason to celebrate, and what better way to do that than with pie?
The Tradition Continues
Seven years later, I’m still handing out pies, and my slogan is more alive than ever. Whether you’re buying your first home, upgrading to your dream house, or selling a property, I want your experience to feel personal and special. Because at the end of the day, real estate is about more than just transactions — it’s about people, community, and the joy of finding your perfect place.
So, the next time you see one of my ads or hear someone ask, “What’s the deal with the pies?” you’ll know the story. And who knows? Maybe you’ll be the next person to close on a house and take home a Village Inn pie of your own.
Because with me, it’s not just real estate — it’s hometown real estate, as sweet as apple pie.
