How do I tell my neighbors that I'm listing my house? Guys, I get this question all the time, people love their neighbors and it's really difficult, really really difficult to tell your neighbors sometimes. Let me tell you though, it's time to tell them. So we could do a couple of things, right? You could just let the sign go up and there they go, they know about it, I don't suggest that, I think it's a little rude to do, just call them or knock on their door and basically let them know, or bring them a box of cookies, I always bring cookies. Just knock and let them know "Hey it's been great living here but we found this place we really love, I'm so sorry, I'm gonna miss you, can't wait to see you soon." Whatever that looks like, right? Make sure you tell your neighbors, you never want it to be a surprise, it just doesn't fare well when it's a surprise and a shock that you've listed your house. You also might want to consider making sure you tell your family and your friends, by the way- sometimes they can bring in buyers that are really good leads, so don't be afraid to get it all out there, you want to be helpful in getting the word out. I know it feels a little bit like invasion of privacy, but at this point your house has become a commodity, it is not your house anymore, I know, that's hard to believe, it's truly a commodity, no different than anything you buy off the shelf at Target, and we have to make it that way so you start detaching, because you know what I'm gonna sell it.
